“They’re bad at macro play”: SWITNES on amateur teams
— How did you arrive at this roster and realize that this exact lineup is the one you should move forward with?
BETS: Through trial and error. At first the roster was built from players who were playing together for the first time — they weren’t “besties”, they’d only seen each other at tournaments, nothing more. We played, everyone liked it, and of course we did a bit of reshuffling — you can’t avoid that.
— How do you rate the current level of local tournaments and CIS teams?
BETS: Only in the PUBGGIS league I saw teams actually taking it seriously. At BIGPLAY, Major League, and smaller prize-pool tournaments that were held or are being held, teams start doing random stuff for no clear reason. Also, not every tournament has PMGC-level lobbies, which makes proper practice harder.
SWITNES: There were more tournaments, and bigger ones too, toward the end of 2025. But teams still play for fun. Like, say it’s two days: day one you get 20 points — you can come back if you have a good day — but they don’t care, they just drive around and mess about. The level of amateur teams is weak; pro teams are already much more interesting.
FRONZES: In commercial tournaments with $10–15k prize pools teams play for fun, but in tournaments with bigger prize pools they start playing seriously and stop doing nonsense.
— Where do you want to see your team in a year?
BETS: On the pro scene, with a solid, satisfying result!
SWITNES: In the world’s top-tier teams.
— Have there been moments when you wanted to quit tournaments and the game — what helped you keep going?
BETS: That was a long time ago, because of bad hardware: results were poor or didn’t exist at all. Once I got a decent setup, results followed.
— Are there teams or players you’re especially motivated against because of personal clashes/conflicts?
BETS: PMCS ESPORTS — their CEO is just too “nice of a girl.”
— Can you name pro players whose skill you admire, and наоборот, whose skill you think is overrated?
SWITNES: Eragon, Knowme, Obalduy, ncssry, Tul1ka — they’re really strong.
FRONZES: I wouldn’t say I straight-up admire anyone — I just like the playstyle of players like Eragon and Krakken.
BETS: Prepod and Tul1ka — I can admire their mindset and experience. If someone is at a high level, then their skill isn’t inflated — they deserve to be there.
— What in your play do you consider your main difference from other teams?
SWITNES: If you compare us to all teams, even pro ones, our macro is at a very high level — that’s what helps us get results. If you look at amateur rosters, they’re dumb — like, genuinely dumb at macro. I can’t even single anyone out, and everyone can shoot like a champion. With pro teams it’s better thanks to experience, although their macro still leaves a lot to be desired.
BETS: The main difference is that our team has the best AWM player. You won’t find that kind of key advantage in other teams.
— Would you like to add anything from yourselves?
BETS: Less toxicity and more playing with your head — not “crash crash push push,” which I’ve been seeing a lot in tournaments.
SWITNES: Train your logical thinking, play local tournaments with your head. 2025 showed that the best CIS teams were winning almost every tournament by playing seriously, and those who played just to hop in and shoot fell behind.
